# Wedding Videographer Costs: Packages, Styles and What Matters

**By VowsLink Team** · 2026-08-01

Video is the wedding purchase couples most often skip and most often regret — mainly because photographs cannot carry voices.

## What it costs

Most couples spend **$1,800–$4,500** on wedding videography. Entry packages (one videographer, 6 hours, a 3–5 minute highlight film) start near **$1,200**. Two-person teams with 8–10 hours, a longer feature edit, drone coverage and raw ceremony footage typically run **$3,500–$7,000**.

## Styles differ more than you expect

A **highlight film** is a 3–6 minute cinematic edit set to music — the most popular format. A **documentary edit** runs 20–60 minutes and keeps ceremony and speeches largely intact. A **social cut** is a 60-second vertical version for sharing. Decide which you actually want before comparing quotes, because packages differ wildly in what is included.

## The audio question nobody asks

Audio quality separates good wedding films from bad ones far more than camera resolution. Ask how they capture vows and speeches: lapel mics on the officiant and groom, a recorder at the sound desk, a backup source. A videographer who answers this well is a professional; one who talks only about cameras is not.

## Before booking

Watch two complete films start to finish, not a showreel. Confirm delivery timeline (8–16 weeks is normal), who is filming, whether drone use is permitted at your venue, and how they coordinate with your photographer — those two vendors share every key moment.
