Dallas–Fort Worth has one of the largest wedding vendor markets in the country. That is good for choice and hard for filtering, which is precisely what a planner is for.
Fees by service level
- Month-of coordination — $1,000–$2,500. Takes over 4–6 weeks out: timeline, vendor confirmations, running the day.
- Partial planning — $2,500–$5,500. Adds vendor sourcing and design support from a few months out.
- Full-service — $5,500–$15,000+, often quoted as 10–15% of total spend. Standard for 200+ guest weddings, which are common in DFW.
What is specific to Dallas
Guest counts here run large, and large weddings are a different job: more vendors, more logistics, more room for a dropped detail. Many DFW venues are estate or ranch properties requiring full build-out — tent, power, catering kitchen, restrooms — and that production management is exactly what separates full-service planners from coordinators. Ask directly whether production is included.
Questions before hiring
How many weddings do you take per weekend, and per month? Who from your team is on site, and how many assistants? Do you accept commissions from vendors you recommend? What is included in „design" — mood boards only, or sourcing and installation? What happens if we postpone?
Is it worth it?
For an 80-guest wedding at an all-inclusive venue, month-of coordination is usually sufficient. Above 150 guests or at a build-out venue, full-service planning frequently pays for itself through vendor negotiation, avoided mistakes and the simple fact that nobody in your family spends the day working.
