How Much Does a Wedding Planner Cost in Florida?

Wedding planning notes and checklist

Planning fees are the line item couples most often cut first and regret last. Here is what wedding planning actually costs in Florida, and what you get at each level.

The three service levels

  • Month-of / day-of coordination — $800–$2,000. The planner takes over 4–6 weeks out: timeline, vendor confirmations, running the day itself. The most common choice, and the minimum we would recommend for any wedding above 60 guests.
  • Partial planning — $2,000–$4,500. Adds vendor sourcing and design help from a few months out. Good fit if you have the venue booked and want help with the rest.
  • Full-service planning — $4,500–$12,000+. From venue search to final send-off, often quoted as 10–15% of total wedding spend. Standard for destination weddings and 150+ guest counts.

What moves the number in Florida specifically

Season is the big one. March through May and October through November are peak across the state, and planners price accordingly. Destination logistics matter too: a Keys or Panhandle wedding with out-of-town guests takes more coordination hours than a hometown reception. And multi-day events — welcome party, ceremony, farewell brunch — are effectively three events to run.

Questions that reveal the real quote

How many weddings do you take per weekend? What exactly is included in the hours quoted, and what triggers overtime? Who is physically present on the day — you, or an associate? Do you take vendor commissions? That last question matters: a planner earning kickbacks has an incentive that isn't yours.
